K-4 News this Week, 4/18-22/10

KRTs

Our K-4s did very well on their KRTs and you will be hearing soon of the results. J 

Show & Tell
The children did very well in their "Qq" Show & Tells this week! Thanks for your help, parents! This week, we will be learning the "Xx" sound as in fox, box, and ax.  Please help your child pick an item for show and tell that has the "Xx" sound, the "ks" sound of "Xx" is rare at the beginning of a word, so look for things they can share that end in "Xx" or have it somewhere in the middle. Examples of the "Xx" sound are box, Max J, fox, exercise, or a book, such as The Lorax, that has "Xx" in the name. J

Book Orders are due Tuesday.
Remember, Scholastic book orders are excellent sources for extra reading practice for your K-4 who is very excited to learn to read (even more) and for summer reading. J  We will probably have only one more book order in May. (Ordering is optional, though.)

Student Store this Wednesday

We will be having the Class Store/ Snack Shack Wednesday. We need at least 2 (maybe 3) parent helpers for helping with the store and helping the kids count their pennies. If you would like to help with this, it would be a tremendous help!

P.S. Our class has READ 50 BOOKS in just 2 Weeks! Yeah! Super Readers! Thank you parents for doing your part in helping our class to reach the goal so that children on Military Bases will get the books they need. The Lord bless you for it and may He be near you and those we are helping in a very special way. Don't forget to pray for our nation's wonderful soldiers, sailors, and their precious ones they must leave at home.
